The Drum Garden - Drumming Lessons and Our Teaching Ethos
At the Drum Garden we provide structured professional drum lessons. The lessons are delivered in an inspiring and relaxed way that only comes from years of teaching all styles, all ages and all abilities. This is why we have students that have been studying with us for over 10 years.
When you teach students for this amount of time you have to continually inspire and motivate. We are always improving and developing how we deliver our lessons. The teaching ethos is no matter how long a student has been studying with us, each lesson has to be better than the last.
With innovative tuition concepts developed since 1995, experienced players say... "they have never had tuition like this before" when they come to us for lessons. We even teach some of the local teachers.
We have taught many students with learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia. We see everyone as a drummer first and foremost and don't let anything get in the way of a student progressing, the answer is always 'yes we can' regardless of age or ability.
Making a difference
"My son, Alexander, who has Autism, has been going to the Drum Garden since January 2011.
We tried several drum teachers for Alexander, before discovering Kevin at the Drum Garden. Kevin has had no difficulty in relating to Alexander and views and treats him like any other student. He once said “music is a language in itself”. In that case, Alexander is rapidly becoming fluent in that language!
Kevin has created his own highly effective teaching programme and, most importantly, has that rare, innate ability to teach! In addition, the facilities are purpose built and the best we have seen.
Finally, our endorsements of Kevin and the Drum Garden is clear in that Alexander really looks forward to his lessons, has made tremendous progress, and we are prepared to travel an hour and half each week to attend."
